THE OPPORTUNITY
Joining a dynamic team of educators, Instructional Coaches are teacher-leaders who are an important part of our education leadership team. Instructional Coaches play a key role in strategic discussions, academic planning and collaborating with other leaders in the network to actualize our progressive vision and achieve our ambitious goals. As leaders, Instructional Coaches are passionate about HVA’s vision and values, setting an example for all, working longer hours, relentlessly and proactively doing whatever is needed, tutoring during lunch or after school, AND helping across campuses to ensure our children are learning at the highest level. Instructional Coaches are provided with instructional leadership training as well as opportunities to learn and grow as teacher-leaders throughout the year.

Responsibilities
Classroom Teaching:
  • Teach approximately half the day
  • Serve as a model of exemplary instruction that reflects HVA's progressive vision
  • Use data to lead students to high levels of achievement and meet academic goals
  • Build a strong student progressive classroom culture
  • Consistently meet or exceed goals in academics as well as classroom leadership (e.g. attendance)

Instructional Leadership:
  • Provide daily in-class coaching and support for teachers to improve instructional quality and student outcomes
  • Lead daily planning meetings and participate in leading professional development
  • Lead data analysis and action planning
  • Collaborate with other instructional coaches across the network to learn and to continually improve our schools

Qualifications
Instructional Experience:
  • Proven track record of exceptional quality instruction and strong quantitative student achievement results with at least four years of teaching experience preferred
  • Demonstrated competency in HVA Classroom Expectations
  • Exceptional teaching abilities – engaging, sophisticated, effective, and progressive
  • Experience analyzing data to inform instructional decisions and improve outcomes
Skills and Qualities:
