Who We’re Looking For

As the elementary Speech and Language Pathologist, you will provide top-quality preventative and remediation speech and language services for elementary school stduents. You will collaborate closely with families, teachers and staff as you support students in the areas of language, speech, voice and fluency.

  • Provide speech-language therapy through individual, group, and push-in sessions
  • Creatively implement therapeutic services using evidence-based practices
  • Conduct speech and language screenings of students
  • Address the needs of students through a Response to Intervention tiered model
  • Write annual IEP reports to show student’s present level of performance, goals and recommendations
  • Communicate student progress and carry-over techniques to school staff, parents and families
  • Work closely with teachers and the special education team to update and manage student IEPs related to speech and language
  • Support the school community with other duties upon request


  • Experience providing therapeutic speech & language services to students in grades pre-K to 6, with proven results; two or more years of experience strongly preferred
  • Holds NYS License in speech-language pathology
  • A strong sense of personal accountability for student success
  • Exceptional relationship-building and communication with students and families
  • Unshakeable belief that all students can learn at a high level and should be held to high academic standards
  • Excellent organizational skills and tremendous attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Spanish and New York State Teacher Certification (TSSLD: Teaching Students with Speech & Language Disabilities) are pluses
